Knit 2: A Hat

Knit 2: A Hat continues your knitting journey by teaching you how to knit in the round and shape your knitting with decreases.

In this session, you’ll work with circular needles and double-pointed needles to create a simple hat. You’ll learn the skills that unlock seamless knitting — continuous, circular knitting from start to finish — and build confidence with shaping, needle changes, and new ways of working your stitches.

Knitting in the round is a foundation for hats, socks, cowls, mittens, and more. The techniques you learn here open up a whole new set of projects.

Materials

All materials are included - project yarn, circular, and double-pointed needles. Just bring yourself!

Prerequisite

Completion of Knit 1 (or equivalent experience)

What’s next?

After Knit 2, many students continue with:

• Knit 3, Socks: Complete a project using only double-pointed needles
• Knit 4, Fixing Mistakes: Recognize and repair common knitting mistakes

Combined with Knit 1 and Knit 3, this class builds a solid foundation for knitting in the round — opening the door to hats, sleeves, socks, cowls, and more.
